Bristol care home thanks local community for their support in heart-warming video

A care home in Bristol has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Unable to say thank you in person, residents and team members at Care UK’s Trymview Hall, on Southmead Road, have sent out a virtual thank you, to express their gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Bristol over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Trymview Hall was inundated with support, with team members receiving skincare products from Caroline McCabe and food hampers from Co-op Avonmouth. Residents also set their eyes to the skies when Rich Goodwin Airshows drew a giant, cloudy, smiley face in the air above the home using a biplane.

Pamela Arnsmeyer, home manager at Trymview Hall, said: “Everyone at Trymview Hall is incredibly grateful for the kindness shown by the Bristol community.  From making sure our team continues to pamper themselves to drawing a smiley face in the air and showing us that the sky is the limit, we are truly thankful for your support.  The team and residents at Trymview Hall are looking forward to thanking everyone in person for their gestures of goodwill when we are able to safely open our doors to the community once again.”

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities, team members at Trymview Hall have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

The new care home provides full-time residential and dementia care, with 66 ensuite bedrooms, and has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
