Bristol retailer whisks up a storm for tasty fundraiser

Team members at Bristol car retailer, City Motors, are raring to whisk up a storm as they prepare to take part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – with a Great British Bake Off twist.

On Friday 27 September, from 9am to 4pm, City Motors, on Castle Court, is inviting local people to pop in for coffee, cake and to help them judge their annual Great British Bake Off contest – all while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning took place in 1990. This relatively small affair became a hugely successful national event and has since raised over £200 million for Macmillan.

Team members at City Motors are hoping that their homemade treats will tempt local people to help them raise even more money to support the millions of people suffering with cancer in the UK.

The City Motors team will also be competing in their annual Great British Bake Off-style contest at the retailer, but judging won’t be a piece of cake as the retailer boasts a wealth of talented bakers.

Emma Cook, Group Marketing Manager at City Motors, said: “Every year, we are proud to host a Coffee Morning and thank Macmillan for their incredible work in supporting people affected by cancer.

“Cancer impacts everyone, either personally or through close friends, colleagues and relatives. It’s important for us to show our support and raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.

“The team are eagerly baking in preparation for our annual Bake Off. We can’t wait to see what the people of Bristol think of our star bakers, so encourage them to come along for a slice of cake this Friday.”
