Southmead Community Communication

It’s time to start thinking about which stories we download from the website and publish on paper for the next edition of the printed version of The Mead (February).

We also need to make sure our What’s On guide is up-to-date so residents can see all the fantastic events, classes, clubs and groups available in Southmead.

Our cut-off for new items – notices, announcements, stories, event details, and anything else you fancy . . . poems, ditties, photos, drawings and adverts . . . is

Friday 18th January

please add your items to the website by this date – we would love to print them, as well as share them digitally.

We print 2000 copies on paper and target distribution to residents in sheltered accommodation where we know many people are not online.  You can also pick up a copy from the SCART Shop, the Greenway Centre, the Southmead Community Centre, and Southmead GP surgeries.  Copies go in to school book-bags, are available at most of Southmead’s Churches and halls, and some residents collect large batches to deliver to every house in their street.  If you’d like to deliver a batch in your street please email editor@themead.org.uk

The Mead is a place for every Southmead Resident, Southmead Worker, and anyone interested in Southmead to be able to share writing and notices.  Everyone is welcome to contribute no matter who you are or what you do or where you come from.

Thank you for all your contributions.
