Real Economy Southmead are recruiting!
We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to act as assistant to the development worker at our weekly Thursday gatherings.
Our centre aims to build community and celebrate fresh, local food. Each Thursday, members of the community cook lunch and eat together, as well as take part in other activities, such as food growing, craft and community organising around issues that affect our lives.
We are looking for someone with a passion for building community by caring for others and helping them realise their potential.
You will have an interest in good, healthy food and either be competent in the kitchen or eager to learn. Craft and design skills are beneficial, but not essential.
You will be able to commit to Thursdays between 10 and 4, and willing to help occasionally outside these hours.
In this role you will gain a breadth of experience and skills, from cooking, to community development, and help to grow the centre into something positive and powerful for Southmead.
