I am a volunteer at the Bristol Community Links in Lanercost Road. I work with people with learning disabilities, dementia, older people, and people with sensory and physical impairments.
I find it a most rewarding job. They are such happy people and always laughing, enjoying everything that goes on, and I enjoy my time there.
At Christmas they had a great time. The place was lit-up like you’ve never seen – big Christmas trees all covered with trimmings and lights.
Then there was the entertainment – lady singers and a mixed bag of groups and bands. But the main event was on 22nd December when Father Christmas came on his Tuk-tuk. He said he couldn’t take it all in and what a lovely place it was. Everyone there had a present, it was a great day all round.
Father Christmas’s name is Paul Tanner, he’s 50 and he and his wife live in Lawrence Weston. They do a lot for charity and also do wedding planning.
