We Need Your Help to Put on the Southmead Show!

We are now in the final planning stages of the Southmead Festival and things are beginning to line up brilliantly.  Southmead’s own superstar drag queen, Esme Doll, will be opening our Olympics themed day with an act set to some rousing tunes to inspire us to ‘let the games begin’!.  There’ll be all sorts of games, sports, performances, tasty food and drinks, and the Greenway Market in full swing in the hall.

On the Community Performance stage will be the Greenway Singers, DWild, Tibetan dancing, and other local acts and entertainment.

Will you be the lucky winner of a ‘Southmeadal’, the special Olympic gongs to reward you for taking part in a race or two – let’s hope so.  And will your ticket be a lucky one for Shirley’s Big Festival Raffle – there are some amazing prizes being donated from all around the community and beyond as we speak.  Huge thanks to volunteer Shirley.

We are now especially looking for donations to fulfil some of the wishes on the list of ideas residents would like to see put on at the Festival, including a children and young people’s zone, funfair rides, and inflatables.  Can you help us?  We have already had a few donations from between £100 and £500 and would be grateful for a few more.  If you can help, please get in touch, email: commsandmarketing@southmead.org.

If you can spare a few hours to volunteer to help out on the day, then we would be delighted.  ‘Jobs’ range from directing festival-goers, helping on stalls, litter picking, and car park duties – and everything in between.  Do contact us, email: info@southmead.org

We hope to see you on the day, everyone is warmly invited and welcome, and do follow our socials as we announce more acts and activities – the final programme will be HERE
