Many of you will know Ian Thornley. He’s been integral to The Mead since its inception. You might recall our front page piece in August about his retirement. Ian was involved in practically everything in our community, always batting for Southmead and never giving up on trying to improve life for residents; he and his wife Irene worked tirelessly for us all for thirty years.
He is now enjoying retirement and spending lots of time eating teacakes, as well as indulging in his other passion, trains. But as no-one knows both Southmead and The Mead like Ian we asked him if he would be our Editor at large; we’re grateful he’s agreed. This means Ian will contribute items, now and then, and will be on hand to help us when we need his experience and guidance as we grow The Mead Group. Thank you Ian.
