Sewer Diversion: Works Due to Begin on Glencoyne Square

In August’s issue of The Mead, we included a four-page housing special pull out with a ‘Sewer On The Square’ update on page four.  These works are the diversion of a sewer that needs to be moved from under Glencoyne Square, and the removal of a small area of contamination.  Both need to be done before any construction work can be carried out for the new homes.

This work is to begin during the first week in November on the side of Glencoyne Square adjacent to Southmead Health Centre.  This won’t affect patient access to the Health Centre, but there’ll be some temporary road closures and adjustments to footpaths around the Square.

Currently the sewer runs under Glencoyne.  The plan is to fill this sewer in with concrete and divert it to run under the road by the Health Centre.  Contractors are expected on site from early November to January.

Thanks for your understanding and apologies for any inconvenience.   Information about road closures will be published on our website, social media, our newsletter, and at Greenway.  A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be issued and will be able to be viewed through the Bristol City Council website.

This is the first work we will see on Glencoyne for the community led housing project and we’re looking forward to getting started. If you have any questions about the project, do get in touch.
